IMMEDIATELY adding Project Hail Mary to my TBR (along with the first set of recommendations) if only because I’ve read all of your other 5 recs, Mia, and they’re so spot on I just know I’ll love this one too
don't read any reviews!! I feel like some get into spoiler territory. I hope you love it, the pacing slowed down a little for me in the middle but so worth getting to the end
Oh I very rarely read reviews of a book, unless I'm trying to decide if I should DNF then I go searching for how other people feel about it. I'll remember that about the middle though in case I start to get a little bored.
I second Shark Heart, which completely took me by surprise last year and then easily made it onto my top 10 fiction of 2024 list! Another one that comes to mind is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It's been *years* but I still remember closing the book when I finished and just sitting on my couch and staring out the window for a while afterwards. What a fun topic to think about - thanks for the prompt!
Cloud Atlas, yesssss. What an incredible book. I have The Three Body Problem on my Kindle, I just haven't gotten to it yet, but I'm glad to hear that you loved it.

I just bought Project Hail Mary for my son, he really loved The Martian, and it makes my mama heart proud, haha. Hope you love it!
Oh, and The Husbands!!
Two of Sarah’s picks are sitting unread on my shelves (stationary shop and invisible furies), will get on that!😁 whole heartedly with Shark Heart!
I’ve read all but one of Mia’s picks 👌 will be checking out Tender is the Flesh this year.
I recently finished Death of the Author and that immediately goes on my personal list!
I recently bought Death of the Author and cannot wait to read it - I have heard nothing but raves!!

Hearts invisible furies. Ugh. That book is truly magnificent. One of my favorites of all time.
Right?! SUCH a good one. I put it off for years because of the length but I never once felt the higher page count.

Shark Heart is one of those “just trust me” books. I want everyone to experience it!
I would add The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue and We Begin at the End.
Gone Girl again. I didn't see that twist coming, so entertaining!
Adding many of these to my TBR pile.
Ooh yes, excellent choice!
I could live here forever is on my tbr. Hopefully I get to it fairly soon. I loved Shark Heart. Such a unique and touching story.
It really was. I can't wait to see what she writes next.
